Considering the demographics of this pilot group, I think 2020 is going to be the "exit-strategy" contract for most of us. It will be the true "I don't give a **** anymore" "negotiation" and Parker, Kirby and Glass will know that on January 30 and will be ready, willing and able to let the majority sell the farm for a pleasant sayonara.

So A we slot a bottom East Captain ( who actually holds the job ) with the bottom American Captain on the S- 80 in Dfw - netting our intrepid Bottom West F/O 300 numbers up the American Captain list.
Or B we slot our bottom West F/O in with the American F/O list which forces hundreds of East Captains junior to all the American and America West First Officers.

Good luck!

If the Nic stands, a bunch of Captains in MIA and DFWwill stay junior Captains for a long time. Those hubs will stay "mini American" thanks to the no-bump, no flush policy but eventually furloughed West F/Os on the date of the merger will upgrade around them until a normal dispersion of pilots is achieved around the system.
Good luck!
Dave accepted a recall to the East from furlough.
He was still furloughed awaiting recall to the America West seniority list.
That's a very important difference.

Well, I don't know what more we can say, but rehash the same old arguments. Few.....VERY few of any of the particulars in this messy little ménage a trois are open-minded about where their position is on this. What seems a certainty is that once the list comes out one of the parties is going to be VERY unhappy (along with pockets of individual pilots, I'm sure). For us, that means only more disenfranchisement and fragmentation to fester in the next few years only aggravating our testicle free negotiation position for 2020.

Only 3 of the 65 west pilots have been recalled with no further recalls until next year. The 65 were all suppose to be recalled to cover flying planned after the POR, the Doj action threw a monkey wrench and the company stopped any further classes.

Did Dave's ID say USAir or America West when he took the recall? What does it say now? If a West pilot gets recalled on the East, do they have to serve a seat lock before they can transfer back to PHX?
Answer. USAir. USAir. Yes.
