Scope

According to them, they aren't really going after scope. " Just a few seats". And, they are prepared to flick the switch and make the lowest paid pilot group in the industry the highest overnight. They know how the psychology of that will affect this pilot group given the demographics and past of both airlines. I have a feeling they'll get what they want. Rule number one, you never talk about what you are willing to offer outside of the negotiating room. Which, Kirby has done. That leads me to believe pay is just the inconsequential icing on the cake. Theres more they are going to offer to get it.
175's at mainline? Bad idea. Im sure Parker would love to have them here for another B scale at best. Probably a C. APA is no stranger to that concept.

In this environment, the pilot group shouldn't have to give up anything to get an industry standard or industry leading contract. Especially considering what was given up before.
Kirby is making it seem more like a compromise. Instead of what's already owed. If APA turns it down, we live with a substandard contract and pat ourselves on the back for holding the line. If APA takes the bait, it sets the tone for all future negotiations... we give up more scope or more work rules next time. All pay raises come with a price.
It's win-win for the company.

What the hell are y'all thinking? As a profession, we are finally getting some leverage to recapture flying and y'all are talking relaxing? I hope this is not real and just internet gossip. There is no reason to relax scope 1 seat. If they come and offer 81 seats for 15% raise, counter with 70 seats and 20%. F parker. He's had a D scale airline since 2005. Stand up to this drunk.

Agreed. That's why ALPA should have been $h!+canned years ago. Oh who am I kidding? Pilots suck at unifying and mngmnt are masters of division, and bait and switch....
AB320 will be Express by the time I retire.. Who am I kidding, we already work a week extra every month for less pay than when I was hired.
At best, only 49% of pilots will ever stand up. Uhgg.

I understand not getting to vote very clear. Happens at Delta quite a bit. That being said, if this is true, y'all need to bombard the MEC(or whatever the apa call them) and make it clear this is not acceptable. Start a recall of reps or decertification of the APA. This is a huge issue that can't be allowed to see the light of day. Any rep that would consider this needs his/her head examined as they must have been in a coma for the last 10+ years.
