From an Eagle pilot: PLEASE NO SCOPE RELIEF! Not one more seat, not one pound. Also, scope should be tightened. Distance should also be factored in. ORD-ELP, ORD-ABQ, LAX-IAH, etc. are not "regional" routes.
Dash8, unlike PDT, Eagle voted NO.

Looking at the latest info from the company. Scot Kirby said they have asked for 81 seat scope. So I guess that makes it official and not rumor. He said that more regional flying = more mainline flying. He said they want to add 5 seats to the current 76 seaters and the ones they have on order. No additional aircraft though. He said ORD and CLT are examples of hubs that would not exist with out RJ's.

Sure, RJs may be beneficial to AAG, but if AAG determines it has a need for a 77-seat aircraft to serve a particular market, that 77-seat aircraft can and should be flown by pilots on the American Airlines Pilot Seniority List.

Kirby doesn't need scope relief for 81 seat jets, LUS already has these type of aircraft flying on their certificate along with union agreements with the pilots and flights attendants to crew them. All Scott has to do is order as many E-jets as he wants and then hire the pilots to fly them. I don't understand why he needs scope relief.

Scope relief equals about 250 fewer mainline jobs right off the bat (the 190s will be gone), beyond that it will begin to affect thin narrow body markets. In turn that affects commutability for mainline employees in those markets. And we would give that up for what? To become paid what Delta already gets paid? No thanks.

No, you need to read the MOU. AA can add as many airframes as they want in the E-series, Group 1 doesn't specify seat capacity. Parker doesn't need to ask for scope relief, he can add as many as he wants to mainline- this isn't a scope problem. Parker just doesn't want to add the planes to mainline.
