Default Industry Leading without Profit Sharing??

Looking at the latest info from the company. Scot Kirby said they have asked for 81 seat scope. So I guess that makes it official and not rumor. He said that more regional flying = more mainline flying. He said they want to add 5 seats to the current 76 seaters and the ones they have on order. No additional aircraft though. He said ORD and CLT are examples of hubs that would not exist with out RJ's.

Umm yeah...
and that is why we have 50+% of all domestic departures on RJs now.

Hey...I'm fine with getting a little extra in pay instead of profit sharing. As long as the management understands that the Delta guys are getting, essentially, an extra month's pay every year. That means we need Delta + 8% just to be even with those guys.
Amen. Delta + 8% just to be even....PLUS the fact that we want to be industry leading....PLUS the fact that they will get significantly more next year potentially. I'd say Delta + 15% is in order. And same work rules. And NO CAVING ON SCOPE!

Here's an idea for how to have more mainline flying: don't give up more scope and have as many planes as possible flown by mainline pilots!

Where did this come from? I missed it.

Check out the DFW crew news on Wings. He pretty much said they were looking for 81 seats.

I fly the 190 now. I wouldn't mind flying the 175 as long as they paid mainline rates for it. I believe it is a common type rating, so it shouldn't be that hard to add it to the fleet. Then they can put exactly as many seats in it as they would like.

We need to see Delta plus quite a bit (especially in work rules and other QOL improvements) to actually believe that Parker and Kirby actually mean what they say.

I just got a shock today when I was doing some research on LTD.
Since it is provided by contractual means, LTD payments are taxable. Which means you will get approx 42% of you pre-tax income and the monthly payment is capped at $8000 prior to tax.
Or an income of $160k would be approx $112k after taxes (max value for LTD).
$8k per month (LTD max payment) is approx $96k per year.
Now since that is taxable it drops to $67k after tax.

Here is the real kicker, if you get any income through any other means. ie buy up via another LTD policy or just plain work.
AMR will reduce the LTD payments so that you still only get a total of $8000 from all sources.

Ouch.

Don't forget it only lasts 4 years. If your situation is permanent, pray you won't need it until your 61.
