Do you think your interests are better served with this PA than without? I feel better about having this, if it indeed makes the final cuts.

I share your frustration with some reps, sometimes, but that has been the case with every union I've ever been associated with. 3rd listers better find some to get behind as we will need APA reps soon.
I think the PA is the right step to take. I think I may understand the issue now with Para. 16 and how it's related to all this. I think and hope it'll be resolved in very short order. I think it's in everyone's best interest to have the PA in place.

I just feel that some of the reps only represent a very small demographic of this pilot group. The 3rd List group grows larger by the day. I just wish we were listened to or had a voice in some way. I agree, the 3Ls need someone we can get behind.

I understand. Hopefully when there is a new name over the door some new talent will sign up to be reps. I've flown with a lot of 3rd listers that have extensive union backgrounds and level heads. I'd vote for some of them over some of my current reps,

Until the next law suit. Good luck, guys. All of you.

If everyone is a little ticked off, the SLI was successful.

I guess I used blanket statment there. I understand not all are but a large proton are. The examples are everywhere. It's hard to have a higher view and expect different after what has transpired between the east and west. In a large majority of the flight deck out there someone's talking about how they got screwed as though they're entitled to something over someone. Even dating back to my fathers struggles with Braniff in the early 80's and Eastern telling all Braniff pilots to sit and spin. Histories full of examples my friend.
I think you are spot on here...we have all been through at least one merger (or probably will be some day), and I fully expect that whenever pilots meet to negotiate an SLI they will try their best to get the most favorable outcome for their own careers and best conditions going forward for them and their families...there will be arguments, disagreements name calling and worse. But in the end, if and when an agreement can't be made and both sides agree to the findings of an impartial arbitration mechanism- we must be able to have the confidence that the other side is as good as it's word...if not, we have nothing.
