Now if my math is right, AA has a combined group3 AC total of 163.
Us has 34 AC that are in group 3
I have not included the 42 787 orders(group4 AC) with 58 options
Have left out the 777 order options as well as a330/350.
I'm thinking no fences on narrow body, with fences on group3 aircraft as us has a lot less group3 aircraft than AA. Group4 fences as well. Length of time? Probably same as United.
Just my 2 cents.

CLT domicile meeting today. Just a quick aside with regard to computer systems. Company is planning to dump Maestro in '14 - as yet unknown what scheduling system they'll migrate to. Apparently the "adopt and go" philosophy for crew tracking/management software may not apply, because word on the street is that the combined crew tracking system will probably either be CATCREW for everyone, or a new, off-the-shelf system.
This is not a company communique but it seemed very credible.

CATCREW is old technology, but they like it for several reasons. One, they own it and it's paid for. Two, it has the capability to handle a 15,000 pilot airline. Three, they can customize it as necessary.
They did say the biggest problem is finding people proficient enough in its ancient platform to program it, though.
Not making any judgments, just reporting what I've heard.

I would expect that they will eventually throw a web interface on top of it.

This. US Airways has made money by being the stingiest bastard. And, behind the scenes, CATCREW is actually very powerful from an operational standpoint (from what I've heard). The cost to reprogram it from scratch in a more modern format would be astronomical and fraught with danger for very little operational benefit.
I would expect that they will eventually throw a web interface on top of it.

Amen. CATCREW while dated is easy to use and took very little to learn. I'm far more concerned about avoiding NAVTEC for PBS than I am about losing CATCREW.

I think you can have no idea how bad CatCrew is unless you have never used something web based and modern. The regional that I came from used Saber Crewtrac and it is SO much better/efficient I don't even want to start a debate. CatCrew is painful and needs to be retired....
