Agree, I was just wondering if they use a similar method though.

Or of course, a total mistake and someone accidentally hit the wrong button after a few cocktails while working from home?

So I am going with the first scenario, I think the system selected these names as competitive applicants, and for some reason did not go on to the next step, hence getting the TBNT email.
Again, agree. And I'm inclined to believe like you, the first scenario.

Which again makes me go with the "snapshot" theory a la USAir style, NOT TO IMPLY THEY USE USAir's vendor.

Simply that those that got the email may have met their criteria at this moment as far as qualifications go, just not competitive enough at this round, etc.

I've applied and this is the first contact/email I've received. No video interview, etc. Anybody else get this email?

6000 PIC JET

Not competitive I guess

I haven't received anything from AA, not a darn thing. Strange….you'd think that if they weren't interested in me, and haven't offered me the video interview, that I would have received the same email.

Maybe AA is waiting until Christmas to send me the email….it would complete my holiday spent with family, my idiot brother, a bottle of bourbon, and watching Bad Santa.

sounds like no news is good news... as posted above, the first round of TBNT emails went out today. I was shocked to hear some of my buddies who were turned down. Aside from the 747-400 FO above, I know a KC-10 IP with tons of TT and also was a Learjet C-21 IP in between his KC-10 assignments that was turned away. I'm assuming this personality test was the reason theyre turning certain people away. So again, no news is good news

Agreed, the more I see these phenomenal qualifications of people getting the TBNT email (I have to ad its only for 6 months and nothing permanent; I bet those who got it will be able to retake it then), the more I am sure it was the assessment scores that they used to thin the heard a bit. And frankly I am not sure I agree with those tests much (or amazed I passed it), but it's just the way it is for now.

I actually think that the people that got this email were selected by the computer as completive but since the test was not "passed", the TBNT email was the result. They are trimming from the top of the list down, as they get you a person, then the email is sent. I think the test is not looked at until you are selected. Then its go or no-go.

Good luck to everyone. 2014 is going to be a big year for hiring!

Another guess without foundation is that hiring has slowed dramatically as the new management's re-considering hiring going forward. Most mergers, in and out of airlines, are predicated on synergies that reduce head count.

With all regard to 117, new management has to cut cost to make their grand plan work. I read today that the school house @GSW is backed up, which may also play into hiring.

Just items for consideration.

I agree that hiring could initially slow down pending some integration decisions, but the TBNT emails indicate that they're screening applications, and one could assume they are doing this with the intention of hiring. Otherwise they would have just done nothing, or flushed everyone's apps and made them reapply. This definitely looks like a go-ahead for hiring

Most being the key word.

What I see directly is a training Dept. at the max - advertising job openings for more dudes. A recruiter I had dinner with last week ( now this is on the Flight Attendant side ) tells me the 2014 targets were revised up another 300 to 2700 total.

Just takes time to get up to speed.
