Default AA video interview

Just received invite to participate in video interview this morning. Any one else get the same invite in the last few days?

From what I can gather on this thread, it sounds as though there haven't been any emails for a few weeks. Makes me wonder about whether the interview will consist of the same questions as listed in this thread.

Any updated rumors/gouge?

Thanks,
Kid

Irritating question I know, but stats? Internals? Intern?

Muchas Kid!

Is there any place on the current application to indicate previous employment with AA? Work history is one way, but is anyone really reading that far into the app?

It does not look like it other than when you select a tab in the employment section for a previous employer, which AA and AE are options to be selected. Maybe these tabs are attached to whatever metric they have loaded into the system to spit out names? But that seems to be the only spot.

On another note, did anyone select both "airline transport pilot" and "commercial pilot with instrument" on the CERTIFICATIONS page if you are an ATP? Or just one or the other? I think there is a clear difference, but wondering what others selected?

I clicked on them both, even though commercial/instrument can be implied with the ATP. Figured more info was better than less when trying to get through the hiring robot.

Thanks! Agreed… but the nut-bag OCD in me thought maybe it was an attention to detail thing.

Also, does a helicopter with guns and missile count as a fighter pilot? (kidding I know that answer)

From someone pushing 24 years at this outfit, welcome aboard. Hopefully the others here will get on as well.

Looking forward to flying with you guys/gals. I'm sure all of you already know this, but it's the other person you're flying with that makes this a great job.

If you fly with me, I'll be the one giving some B.S. story about free beers for FO's at the next layover.

P.S. They really aren't free, you have to buy your FO's the beers when you make Captain.

I can guarantee that it will be a "ride" for during your career, but day to day, it's the people you fly with that enable you to mute the BS, or at least have a little fun despite of it.

Again, welcome aboard and good luck to all.

My guess, based on a minuscule sample, AAL will (new) hire military pilots as they have since the the 1980s. Will they use the Eagle flowbies to supplement the pilot pool and provide the GA side?

In the past, some advanced the idea that military guys made lousy union members and were/are mission hackers. True or not, it has been espoused in the past. Eagle pilots... glad to have a job, even with the pay cut with the totally uncertain future at Eagle. Do Eagle flows have indigestion with ALPA? How does that play in their attitude in the New AAL?

I have no idea what the balance/ratio/preference has been at UsAir, but it will certainly be interesting to see how that influences things going forward. If their is really a NEW AAL, one place it must start is with initial selection and training.
