I don't know how seniority will play out there but I think it will be somewhere in the middle, not very junior or senior.
What AA is saying is that 737 is going there to replace the 73. 737 has ETOPS to fly to Hawaii.
We will all know come December though.

I think the talk was the 737NEO, oops MAX, could do PHX-Hawaii.

First 3 deliveries in 2017, 17 in 2018.

If they plan to use the MAX's it's about two years in the future.

SLI will be out and fleet movement plans will be announced. Probably. Well, maybe. Don't worry, everything will change in January though

Does the company work with you when it comes to training dates if you've still got a military commitment to fullfill? Hypothetically speaking, I'm talking something along the lines of 4-5 months maximum from the offer.

They did in the past. One of the guys in my class had been hired a few months before our interview class, and was in our class after his deployment was up. I have also heard of two other people getting hired while on active duty shortly before their commitments were up. They both flowed into class dates when they could.

As always, be straight forward with them during the interview, they'll understand mitigating circumstances. The question should come up in the HR portion.

Be careful. If you tell them up front (app and interview), you should be ok. But if you bring it up after you're hired, they may not wait for you.

Great info! I just published my AAL app and was wondering what my chances were for an interview in the next year. I'm a retired naval aviator with 3800 total hours, 2100 military PIC, ME jet, and just over 1000 hours of 121 time at a regional. I have one rec in my app. Any recommendations/thoughts?

Think your background is great. That seems to be what the majority of "off the street" guys have that are getting the interview invite.
