Can anyone give some insight on how training goes? Is it M-F? Weekends off? Should I bring a car? When can I start jump seating? Thanks

I can only speak to the LUS side. No need for a car unless of course you live close enough to make it easy to bring. The hotel will get you back and forth between training. Most of the hotels will take you to a grocery store if you want. Hotels vary between a microwave and small refrigerator to a one bedroom suite with a full kitchen.

Typically 4 or 5 days on then 2 or 3 off (could be weekends off but probable not). You can jump seat right away, but don't need to as you'll get positive space tickets home on your days off. It's a gentleman's course by AF standards.

Just beware....

The hotels have nothing around them for food. (Except a gas station or two.)

For some reason, there are about 5 large hotels within a stone's throw-and absolutely no dining other than hotel food. I have no idea why no one opens more dining joints around there. They could make a killing.

Generally AA Indoc runs from Tues-Sat, 2 days off, then Tues-Sat.....after this you can travel home to await Groundschool/Sim....sometimes the wait can be in excess of a month (fully paid while waiting).

Each ground/sim schedule is different, but generally day 1 you start fairly late to facilitate commuting in, and it shifts earlier and earlier til day 5 when you finish around 10 am (to facilitate going home).

We had people jumpseat the first weekend, with the associated nightmares getting back in time for class....do not be the person to get back late....people are watching.

Welcome aboard

Ps....several different hotels....if you have a car, it doesn't matter. Without a car try to get the Candlewood (you won't need a car, and can always rent one in the weekends)

So, do you not get positive space tickets home during Indoc now?

On the LAA side you get A3 travel that you set up yourself.

I think that was yet another ignored LUS provision.
