I was Feb 11 & 12 interview group. I can confirm 3 left in the group with additional 3-4 off-the-street CJO's

Can anybody who has interviewed provide details on what to expect for the Pilot Skills Test (PST) on Day 1 of the interview process? I got called Friday for a Tuesday/Wednesday interview and the only thing I can find regarding the PST is from 2013 that says "The PST is a new, computerized evaluation program that measures the critical skills necessary to become an American pilot."

Is there a sim portion of the process, computer-based hand-eye coordination, technical test, etc? Any way to prep (study FAR/AIM)?

Good luck to anybody else heading to Dallas next week!

No prep needed for the PST. Mostly cognitive type stuff with just a touch of math thrown in. No simulator like UAL used to do but there was this portion with a stick and rudder thrown in to keep a ball centered. Overall, It is nothing like Deltas testing so don't waste your time in the next 72 hours trying to cram for the PST. SERIOUSLY, I didn't dedicate any brain cells to the PST and I got the CJO. Think about your TMATs would be my best advice.

None of the 10 I interviewed with felt good about the PST before, during, or after. Just give it your best and try not to stress on it. Best of luck! The interview was thorough but relaxed.

I agree with Saluki. When I interviewed they even told me the PST doesn't count. They are doing it to gather data. Just focus on the interview which even that is a comfortable and relaxing environment. However, don't get to relaxed, remember it's still an interview but just smile and enjoy yourself. You are hired when you first arrive and walk through the doors. The rest is just them making sure you are who you say you are. It's a great experience.
Congrats.

The PST is 3+(4?) hours. You'll be tired and and won't feel good about how you did. It's designed to stress you. The better you do the harder it gets... until you fail.

90%+ get hired. They're just trying to vet that the guy they see on paper is the guy they talk to.

Like TOGA said, it's still an interview. Relatively low threat, but high reward, so it matters. Focus but relax. Easier said than done.

Good luck.

Has anyone else heard anything about this F2F interview date? I'm crossing my fingers for the email to be invited. I did the video interview early last year.

Make sure you check your junk mailbox. I added a VIP folder in my IPhone for all the AA contacts.

PST - 4 hours, no need to study. I downloaded BrainFit on my iPhone, which helped with the memory and pattern portion of the test.

Good luck!
