Jacket, you make it sound as if there's a second video interview...there's only one.

You guys "jackin" one another before you even get hired here...unfortunately, you will fit in just fine.

More importantly does anyone know what the first class in October looks like.... Flow, Recall, Off-The-Street?

HR drives hiring now not the pilots.
Touchy feely and community service are more important than what some native pilot has to say about you.

Fine, you have all the answers. Good for you. Hope it's got you a class date.

At the last new hire dinner 2 days ago we had only 2 new hires off of the street, a few recalls and the rest were flow throughs (a couple from Piedmont). The VP of the union told me AA is pushing Bob Skinner to emphasize flow throughs.

Why am I at new hire dinners with APA?...I do a union brief about training and Professional Stds. Been flying for AA for 30 years.

What do you mean "AA is pushing B Skinner to emphasize flow throughs"? I thought that was based on certain percentages of the numbers hired. Isn't AA interested in hiring OTS too? I know plenty of guys (mil) that would love to come here but most of the classes are full of furloughs and flows at the moment.

Skuba, it has always been said that in the future (when ever that future is), the way into the right seat at AA is to flow from MQ, PSA, or PDT. Whether or not that remains a certain perecentage of the number being hired or the entire class is anyones guess. Flows are here to stay (for at least a few years). That looks like the way management wants it to keep wholly owns full.

They're still hiring mil. I know 3 guys (all ANG) who've been hired in the past year.

Three over the course of a year hardly counts. I think the writing is on the wall that AA primarily wants to hire flows to encourage young pilots in school to go to the regionals and to up hold the contract. There will still be OTS hiring with mil as a certain % of those but let's call a spade a spade, OTS hiring will be a small minority until they drain all the flow pilots. It is what it is. Just my 2 cents.
Disclaimer, I a mil Jan 2015 hire that is still seating on the bench waiting for my turn.
