If they can go out and get their ATP's that would be a plus. It may/may not set them apart from the next person...js.

I'm going to try putting my app in without the ticket. I did take the written last summer before the new rules were implemented. I've another 14 months before my written expires so if I still haven't gotten a call come next Spring, I'll drop $3k into an ATP practical.

Yeah lots of dudes are planning on getting it but have not yet. They have been holding their apps on receiving the actual cert. I told them to go ahead and apply without it since you can't win the lottery if you don't play.

As soon as you complete the first year you can check out as Captain at $147 an hour.
1 year F/O then the rest of your American Airlines career as skipper sounds like a good gig to me !

I apologize if this has already been asked/answered, but is it possible to defer a class date to be hired onto a specific side (LAA/LUS)?? Also are there any rumors on narrow body fences?? Thanks!!

Not worth it unless you don't mind commuting to PHL or already live in base. Even if that were the case, I'd still rather sit where I am now making just as much money if not more in the right seat. That's just me though.

You might want to read up on it, I don't think it's that simple any more. Something about sim and ground training as well. I think you're looking at $10k or so. The commuters doing it have a program in place, I doubt we do, no need.
