Honestly I'm still trying to figure out how I got a call...either way I'm grateful

I hope so. I'm at 3120 TT, 2196 TPIC. I know the average new hire has quite a bit more than that. We'll see!

WAI statements -

1. 14,000 applications now

2. Newhire avg TT in 2014 was 5556 hrs. Obviously MIL, especially fighter, TT is lower.

3. AA does all hiring. Former US hiring official at WAI conference and spoke during a Q&A at an info briefing.

Apparently the amount of recalls coming back is gonna reduce the amount of street hires in 2015...soooo it could be a bit

I had about 3,400 hours total, around 2,500 of that was PIC and about 1,300 of that as IP/EP...so you're in the ballpark.

FYI, at least on the hiring front, it's not all about the flight time. If you've done any work as an Ops officer, ADO, safety guy or anything related to that, make sure that sticks out in your profile/resume. Whatever you can do to separate yourself from the run-of-the-mill pilot with umpteen thousand hours will help you.

Excellent. Thank you for the advice; that helps a lot. Cheers!

Agreed with the above advice...might be coincidence but after I updated I was a safety guy and put AMIC on my app I got a call the next month.

I haven't been able to attend any job fairs so can someone shed some light on where or how to add volunteer work on your profile?

From what I've heard, your resume is the place for that.

I volunteered on a weekly basis so I put my under employment and put wages as $0. When I interviewed they saw it and liked it and they new right off the batt it was volunteer work.
Hope that helps
