I can't speak for LAA but on the LUS side, training isn't hard. It's a gentlemen's course for sure. With the new pay rates you can actually relax and enjoy yourself rather than worry about how you're going to feed your family over the next year.

We got an email at Eagle that there approx 120 undefers.
AA has 120 days to enter them into training.

They can defer up to 120 more days. Then they must take the next available class. Some will start right away, some won't.

still means those in the pool will be swiming longer and the rate of flows will stop or slow dramatically. More good news for those of us stuck at the bottom feeders

got this in email today

Good afternoon,

Congratulations on successfully completing the pilot interview process at American Airlines. We are very passionate about our future and believe that you will play a critical role in the continued success of the new American Airlines.

We know you are waiting to be assigned your class date, and we want to update you on the progress. Because of recent changes to the pilot contract, we are experiencing an increase in the number of pilots returning to the line from a previous deferral. As such, we are reducing the number of new hire pilots we are bringing on board each month. If the current plan holds, the majority of you could be offered your class date in the second quarter of 2015; although some class dates may be a bit further away.

We realize how critical this class date is for you, your families and your future planning, so we will continue to update you with any additional information as quickly as we can. We apologize for the delay. Please feel free to contact us at [email protected] with any questions.

Thank you all and we will be speaking with you soon.

When did you interview? 1/2 Oct? Wonder how many are left in the pool. About 10 of us were offered jobs yesterday but now we are just waiting for HR to contact us.

Yes, 1 Oct. An additional 4 months of waiting hurts. Not sure what the math is from 1 Oct to end of 2nd qtr but it's a long time.

Did anyone after the 1 oct interview get this email? If not, I would assume the 1 Oct would be the last in the group who got the email ergo end of 2nd qrt for expectations. yikes!

Hey everyone. Great to see all the movement going on at all the majors. Been reading a lot on this post. I have my profile "turned on" to view a few weeks ago as I was waiting on my degree. Would anyone have an idea with all of the above being said, as to when street interviews and hires may pick up. AA is my number one choice if I had the ability to choose since I am rite here in MIA respectively. How many recalls truly are left assuming all will come back?

Hard to tell. Interviews may slow but continue. It's possible the next few months could be all undefers and some Envoy flows with zero street hires. I know the envoy Union is talking to the company about not slowing that part. They said they would possible announce something feb 6 but that was yesterday.
Could be something like 30-40 undefers mixed with street hires and eagle.

Legacy US Airways is still hiring. I'm not aware of any flows or recalls in the mix.

Not sure if the new contract changes things or not but we have been 100 % of the street hiring.

It might be as long as you think.
