American interviews and class dates

Quick update for those who are curious as to how quickly things are moving- hired April 2014, finished training July. initially assigned Mia 73d, did that for 3 months before getting lax 73d. I live in San Diego so that's awesome and I just got awarded San Diego long call reserve first time out. All things I thought would take me years to do only took 3 months...so far so good!

In same class, got first choice 757/767, got surprise award to ORD (20 min drive from home) before I even finished IOE, did one month in crashpad in MIA (called for one trip to Brasilia at end of month) and now just completed 18 days of being at home not getting called for a trip. Hoping to get Chief Pilot to buy me a Rome 3 day for currency this week- Reserve at home is all you could dream of, even at the bottom of the list......... Wife may throw me out of the house is I don't fly somewhere soon though!
Beagle that rocks! Hearing stories like that reinforce my need to live in base. I'm sure it's fleet dependent how much you fly on reserve, but it sounds like your reserve system works because they're staffing it correctly.

And where is the SFO base that these vacancies opened at?
Here is my deal. Currently an east coaster. Family is west coast. Planning to get an apartment wherever I get based until the lists are merged and I can get LA, but SFO would be even better. Can someone explain how it works?

Saw a contact from flight admin and asked about upcoming classes. One starts tomorrow and then 2 are planned for Nov and 1 in Dec. The breakdown for the first nov class will be 28 folks mainly flows/recalls and only 1 off the street. Second nov class will have folks going mainly to airways side regardless of where the candidate interviewed. Same for the DEC class.
Don't be that person that just cancelled short notice on them when finding out they only had the option to be on the airways side..not a good move .
Subject to change but that's the latest and greatest hear.. On our side (AA) training is the bottleneck currently.
