I can speak for the Late June interview group... roughly 9 of 15 made it in class before the training delay. 1 left to go to SWA and 1 did not make it through the face to face interview process. We have spread out our group from classes in late august through 7 Oct. We still have 4 people currently swimming in the pool waiting for a date. I believe there are still about 6 - 8 from the early July interview group in the same boat. So far no real rhyme or reason for the class date assignments that we have been able to determine.
I agree that those that are facing long waits with pending employment offers from other airlines would be bolting, unfortunately not everyone has been so lucky to get multiple interviews yet. That decision comes down to a personal level though and what works best for the person, as it varies from person to person (base options, career goals, brand desires etc)
What makes the wait more painful and trying is for those that told their employeers they have been hired at AA. They have a tough situation with their old employeer and potential new one.
Unfortunately, I am not sure this problem is purely an AA one, as I remember reading that this problem exists at UAL and DAL in terms of sitting in various pools. SWA being the lone one to escape this problem with limited hiring. The common sticking point is sim availability, every airline needs bodies but they are limited on their capacity to get people in the training in a timely manner.
I believe that Nov and Dec has slowed down to no new Indoc classes and the sim slowing down for Holiday manning with an expected restart in early Jan. I could be wrong but from what I have seen from the email about the delay it makes sense.
The pool presently encompass late July through present new hires, almost a full 2 months of new hires if math serves correctly. Hopefully they are able to reboot with a more streamlined flow from interview to class, getting more people through the process.
I know they are still doing interviews though, a friend just started the process this morning. Hopefully he can shed some light on what they are currently saying
PM if you have specifics and will see what I can find out.

Thanks t6, appreciate the info!
I will admit, Recruiting has been great through all this...we know much of this delay is unavoidable. I'm very curious, however, how some June interviewees, as you said, are waiting for class but a few mid to late August interviewees are starting class. Interesting.
Thanks again, let's keep the info coming!

No facts, just an off hand comment made to me, and the alleged 2 month back log(backlog is a fact, length is uncertain), that makes me believe this statement might be a pretty good guess right now -
t6marine - "I believe that Nov and Dec has slowed down to no new Indoc classes and the sim slowing down for Holiday manning with an expected restart in early Jan. I could be wrong but from what I have seen from the email about the delay it makes sense."

I know the process is almost at a stand still but has anyone that started the interview process within the last few weeks receive a F2F email this week or last?
I got the email requesting additional info (DOB/SSN) 10 days ago but haven't heard anything. Figured it is going to be a long time with what I've been reading.
