Thank you. I hear, based on info here, that they go out on Fridays. I've been checking my email and junk mail frequently but I've got nothing. Anxious for the opportunity!

I applied back last Oct. or whenever the window first opened. I made it past the app questionnaire as far as I know.. Haven't heard a peep since. Is this the norm?? I have been updating my stuff once a month and I have been checking my junk folder for months but nothing..

Not to sound too cute, but what is your question? Are you assuming that you are the only person who applied when the window opened, wasn't given a TBNT email from the assessment and has yet to get a call? I'm pretty sure that puts you in the pool with the nearly 7000 other people that are in the same boat.

From what I'm hearing, the psych eval is the bulk of the selection process. Too far into the "Type-A" range gets you the TBNT letter. The "Type-B" gets you an automatic TBNT letter as well. You want a moderate "Type-A" personality to advance, where you are then placed in a bell curve. Apparently, they are selecting from the top of the bell curve, and then working their way outward. Hence, their choice applicants get the first shot. Allegedly, it's the predominant method of selection, overriding such things as PIC time and experience. That stuff comes into play later.
Not 100% sure of the validity of this, but it is what I've picked up from several varying sources.

Holy cow.......lighten up, Francis. This is absolutely relevant, given that USAirways had you apply again every several months.

I cannot vouch for what they ARE using for selection criteria, but I can vouch that they don't give a ratz *** about any internal pilot recommendations or non-recommendations... and some of their boneheaded selections show it. Over all the news hires are great folks, but I think they would have fewer bad apples if they had a few pilots actually involved, rather than just figurehead spectators. Rant over.
