I wouldn't sweat it. Didn't someone say there are over 10,000 applications on file with AA? At some point, our names will eventually come across the desk. We're already at the point where new hires in class at one major are leaving to go to another major. That's unbelievable leverage. This is an awesome time to be looking for a job, and with your qualifications odds are 2 or more majors will want you at the same time.

Leverage - Definition and More from the Free Merriam-Webster Dictionary
When people have more than one job choice, that is not leverage, that is called, more than one job choice. And while yes, there exists, pockets of two job offers at two majors, this is NOT very common right now. Heck, only two majors are interviewing to my knowledge in recent months, DAL and UAL. This is 2013, not 1993.
Leverage is the ability to influence another party to your own benefit. Nobody said it was financial. Altho, the whole reason everybody is seeking employment, is, well, financial.

For a know it all, you sure don't know much. UA, DL, AS, US, & AA have all started hiring this year. Who gives a crap about how he uses the word leverage. Get over yourself. And yes, there are people going from ground school at one major to another. Although its not common, he's right, there have been a few people I've seen do it this year. 2013...

If the merger goes through, does anyone know if US plans on switching the hiring process to AA's in the interim (Adopt & Go)? I wonder how long it would take them to make the switch? Also, have they started the face to face interviews yet?

Yes, back to AA. Good luck to all in getting their first choice. If we get hired at AA within the next year we'd have amazing seniority after the mass retirements. A buddy ran the numbers, top 12 percent give or take in like 15 years.

Face to face started last week, 2 day interview process. Rumor is usair already started packing up their phx headquarters and shifting to DFW... no clue on who would take the lead on hiring. In the meantime both airlines hiring is a good thing in that it doesn't negatively pit one airline against another in terms of positioning for the merger
