Speaking of all military... the air force just officially approved early release of a huge number of IP/EP pilots. Estimates range from several hundred to a few thousand, im trying to get a good guage on it. Things just got even more interesting. I think I may have just dropped out of the running for AA since im not an IP, but best of luck and congrats to those who are getting out! The future definitely looks bright!

B744/C17 PIC ?

Man, I don't know how you could or should consider yourself out of the running for anything. AA isn't going to hire strictly military IP/EP's. They prefer a mix of backgrounds and ages. Stay positive !

I think we're all competitive in our own way, and im definitely optimistic about our future. With that being said, those who put the effort in to upgrade to IP and EP bolstered their resumes in a big way and certainly deserve to be hired. While that doesnt mean the rest of us arent qualified, its just another qualification that helps them move to the front of the line. Having another 1000-2000 extra 30 year olds with wide body instructor time just hitting the candidate pool this summer just raised the bar. These are by and large awesome pilotsand great personalities, I know quite a few of them, theyre seriously talented.

I know there will not be interviews this month (unless something changes), but I don't know about the second half of march.

I don't think there have been any interviews since 12-13 March. I was also one of the lucky 18. Congrats to everyone from my group.

Yes I know the numbers don't add up, so some one is "off" somewhere, but it gives you an idea.
Do you know how the selections went in terms of seniority? What were the first and last picks?

I'm going to guess that DFW was first, MIA 737 was second on the list as far as desired, and the 767 was the junior A/C.

This is just an outsiders educated guess. I could be 110% wrong.
