I know personally more than 20 people trying to get to LAX who cant yet hold it, most of them are people who have flowed over to AA.
I am sure there are more that I don't know personally who are non flows.
That, coupled with the fact that the last bid had 12 LAX FO openings and all those slots went senior to the current most junior LAX slot tells me that LAX will take a while for anyone hired today to hold. Unless the company begins some massive LAX expansion that has not yet been announced.

Rumor was that there was only to be one April class, one is set for 22 April, does anyone know if the April 8th class is in fact canx? Will that be enough of a break to mitigate the 3-4 week gap?
Thanks in advance

Sorry, been a bit busy getting wined and dined
As of yesterday the word was 135ish S80s remaining by ye2014 then retiring 27/yr through ye2019. Of course we discussed it very briefly today with the training mgr and he said through 2018 maybe, so I think there's quite a bit of uncertainty or maybe just not enough crosstalk. Also mentioned that they'll be training on the 80 steadily all year, so I think at least the next couple of months will continue to have some S80 slots in each class (at least until the Dec hires are unlocked I'd guess).
It looks like we all will have 3-4 weeks between indoc and acft ground (76, 'bus and 80) .
Junior pilot is 10107, DFW S80.

There is some talk that job fairs or events like WAI and OBAP attendance give an applicant "points" on their application, not sure if it is a fact though. It is what someone working the AA booth at WAI told me.

One person met with the mia chief pilot, and another went to dfw and got a meeting with JH. Both were called a week later for interviews. I know officially they say its all computer, but unofficially, if you network well, you will be shortlisted.

Both are computer selected processes. No internals help until after you show up for face to face interview in DFW or PHX/CLT.
