For example, I have 4 hrs PIC in T34 and 100 as Dual/Received. To log the 100 I just listed it as SIC with the explanation in the notes section explaining that it is 100 of Dual Received.

Where does it say that Dual Received = SIC in the notes?

Thanks

There is a blank note box next to each aircraft that you have flown- you can write whatever you want in there to explain something. Delta and United accept Dual Time on airline apps and its figured into their totals. I think it should be okay to log it this way as long as you can explain it. Just my two cents.

After reading this thread, I pray that the US Airways culture, philosophy, and procedures survive in this merger. AA seems to be the Third Reich of the legacies. Chill out, relax, and foster a comfortable work environment! They are way too hardcore.

this book discusses the AA hiring approach, circa 80's/90's. In sum, it was "seek the most arrogant, cocky, self assured guy" possible. In this book, or somewhere else, it was mentioned that technical skill was valued.

The Southwest Airlines Way: Jody Hoffer Gittell: 9780071458276: Amazon.com: Books

Back then, Judy Tarver was in charge of pilot recruitment. The rumor was she had a collection of military patches pinned to her wall. That's fine, it is what it is.

Of course, nowhere was "people skills" or "on the road 4 days with this guy" mentioned.

Hopefully, things are done different now.

Back on topic, this is not a SWA v AMR thread

After 13 years here at AA... I can tell you that, on the surface, they may look hard core and rigid. Once you close that cockpit door, you won't find a more laid back cockpit atmosphere. I wouldn't trade our pilot group for anything, anywhere... greatest group of guys and gals who will drop everything to help you out. You guys applying, keep the faith and hang in there through this process - you'll see what I mean once you get on here.

Agree. Having come from Eagle via the flow thru, if anyone was primed with inaccurate assumptions about the AA pilot group based on rumor it was pilots like me. I knew in advance that this wasn't so as I had friends here, but it seems to be an especially easy myth to latch on to. AA is no different than every other carrier in that it has its "5%" 'ers, but they are an extreme minority.

I paused, thinking I read it wrong, or was a trick question. At least it made me laugh.

For those who want to know if you can log Dual/Student time as SIC on your App. Here is the answer I got from AA Support from Pilot Credidentials;

PIC= Any time you signed for the plane as aircraft commander or solo including all instructor time.

SIC= Any time you acted as second in command and/or didn't sign for the plane. This DOES include dual/student time.

Instructor= Only the time you logged as an instructor, regardless of the time being reported in PIC.

Instructor time is PIC time. It belongs in both columns.

If you have any further questions or requests, please don't hesitate to ask!
