US West to recall remaining furloughed pilots
#51
The East contract is really not that bad if you're on reserve.
Yes, Delta and United pay more, but US Airways short call reserves don't work—they fly 35-42 hours a month.
If you need more money get a second job, because you're going to have plenty of time on your hands.
Otherwise, It takes about 2.5 years to hold an a321 line in PHL.

You shouldnt need to get a second job when you are a major airline pilot flying for a legacy carrier. Your posts are normally very well thought out and contain good info so I'll pretend you didnt post this. Dont get me wrong, I absolutely love it here, but this pay is beyond ridiculous. Saying United and Delta pay more is an understatement. Lets hope this merger goes through!!

Hey bassslayer,
Thanks for the complement—much appreciated.
You're right, but how many times have we all been advised to have a second career incase of medical dequal? I want to see the pay at Airways restored, but right now the inefficient work rules may be used to offset the pay cuts we took to come here. This may be as much an opportunity as a problem.
I guess I tend to call the glass half full, even if it's 3/4 empty.

Because they, like you, are not East pilots. They have no East seniority number, cannot bid East positions and have no claim to employment outside PHX once recalled from furlough.

Btw I missed this post. Again, another ignorant eastie. West pilots that went east, in fact, can resign their west seniority and stay east with their east seniority.

Only 3 of the 65 west pilots have been recalled with no further recalls until next year. The 65 were all suppose to be recalled to cover flying planned after the POR, the Doj action threw a monkey wrench and the company stopped any further classes.

New to this forum. But joined to ask a question. These Eastholes are at it again. This time using our own guys against us. 25 I think. West guys are flying out east and will probably be allowed to stay over there using their doh on the west. Heard a rumor that if that happens they will jump in seniority over the west guys that are junior and never got furloughed. Are we getting our own representation at the table with AA? Or is USAPA gonna represent us? Does anybody know? Something about relative positon % jumping them up the list by 10 or 15%. That doesn't seem fair to the west guys who have been riding the bottom this whole last 7 years.

P.S Dave Odell will be in west class in January and very happy to get away from the east holes.

These Eastholes are at it again. Using our own guys against us this time. Hearing rumors that the west guys that are flying out east are going to stay over there forever now with their west doh. Doesn't seem fair to the west pilots that have been never furloughed and been riding the bottom of the list for the last 7 years. Heard that the guys out east that are AWE guys will jump the seniority list by about 10 to 15%. I guess there are about 25 of them or so. Can they jump the list like that? If we merge with AA like CO/UAL and Delta then it won't be doh (please no). But if its relative like that rumor I am hearing these guys will go senior to our own guys on the west that are really senior to them on the AWE list. Does anyone know anything? Tired of the BS.
