The apa is neutral as this is an east/west issue. However the apa president says that "doh" is a non starter.

I can see how they don't want to get involved; however, I'm sure that they also don't want to be subject to litigation by not honoring an arbitrated award.

Exactly. Management made usapa's demise ASAP mandatory in their term sheet. Usapa is and always has been a liability to the corporation.

Parker wants a resolution (whatever it is) as fast as possible. These two judges are most familiar with the squabble and would be in the best position to provide that.

Which is why they prefer it be resolved prior to negotiating the AA/U list. APA and AA pilots aren't in any hurry to complete the SLI as most of the orders and projected growth are all on the AA side and fences will almost certainly be put up once an SLI is awarded by the arbitration. Their primary concern at this point is the avoidance of being dragged into the spinning compass of the east/west squabble.

Wink

The east has twice the amount of retirements in the next 5 years than AA...No big hurry for SLI on our part.. Specially now that were on the same pay rates...

It is amazing how simple minded we are as people. We readily associate names and titles with small minded collectivism. How is USAPA any more or less than ALPA? Look at what the group currently called APA did to another group called TWA under the ALPA brand! If we change the organisations name to Bo'Jangles Pilot Reps will that somehow magically change human nature? Do you really think APA cares about the East/West issue? No, they only care about incentives.

The people in USAPA will be given positions within APA—they're already lobbying to make the move. The BPR will live on by another name and brand of marketing.

I understand if USAPA is the target of many individuals negative emotions, but that's all it is—emotional association.

First of all, how, when, and were the growth will go is beyond OUR/YOUR control..Pretty ballsy statement on your part. Considering the hard FACT that the ratified AA lbfo contained up to 50% of domestic market outsourcing!! You're welcome!! I guess the BK filling has yet to bring your feet back on the ground..... Secondly, any "FENCES" will be part of the SLI award, not after, as you imply... And finally, any "fences" that might detract from the SYNERGIES expected by the Co. will not be allowed. Why does the Co. have a third party interest in the SLI process? To keep the fences from affecting the overall plan. The UC want their pay-out QUICK!!The synergies that DP promised, cannot be rationalized unless the Co. has freedom to deploy equipment at will.. AA pilots will most likely get a 7 year fence on the WB. Beyond that, anything else is not probable..
Look to the DL/NW merger for guidance..
