I didnt mean it the way you are taking it however some of us know how to save and work a 401K to our advantage. Then there are some who want others to take care of them and are lost when they fail.

The point is that the east gave away not only the 15% gain with Kirby but they also gave away any new contract that we would have by now and for what?

something better than the kirby or your fabled foolow up contract. We'll make more under the MOU than the kirby......thanks.

And sorry if savings and self funded 401k is not something I call a "retirement"

Nor do I see an actual retirement plan as someone else "taking care of me" More like a negotiated contractural benefit....

Hey numb nuts, today the Kirby would have paid the same as the mou. I am not saying the Kirby was acceptable but even your founder admitted you lost $650 million since it was offered.

That's not correct. Do you ever check anything for yourself, or do you just take your AWAPPA board buddies word for it?

That makes you a fool and you fit your user name very well. That proposal gave the east 15% over loa 93 and granted it was not DAL money but it was leaps and bounds better than you had. I have no doubt that we would be under an even better contract by now. Yes the MOU is better but you had no idea that a merger was looming and absent that there would be NO MOU! The bird in the hand comes to mind here.

I don't have a pension and just about every career that offered one outside of the government has raided its pension fund. I count on ME to take care of my needs not hoping that a benefit will be there. I know that contract concessions can happen and that a pension plan can get hit. This is just what happened and the east has wasted over 1 million an arbitration to recoup that pension and all they have to show for it is1 million of my dues dollars wasted on this non sense.

A small raise in exchange for almost all of the east scope(I know you never had much, but it can be important), and NO raise for the E190. Oh yeah, we should have jumped all over that. I wonder why the west ALPA leaders(weren't you one?) denounced the Kirby, until the Nic cam out.

You are a trip WD.

Lets quantify that shall we? A small raise would be $1.00 per hour the Kirby would have given the east capts that were earning $124/hr a raise of $18.60/hr. Now maybe to you thats a small raise but to the rest of the free thinking world I can assure you that a raise of almost $20.00 per hr is far from small.

That I might be.
