'Fair'? Noone at AA or more specifically APA/APFA knows what that means.

That dog won't hunt. APA knows the score there. When USAPA gets their house in order, the company will have to negotiate. Ironically, USAPA is out numbered by APA. This SLI may be self solving, with everyone actually agreeing to the RESULTS of the arbitration.

If Parker and friends wanted a single contract at Airways it would be done and the combined list issue would not prevent that. Management uses it as one of many excuses to not get a deal done. Think about it, they can "agree" with all the unions on contracts at AA in a month or so of talks but have been at it for years with there own unions. We are our own worst enemies as pilots because "we" are all better, smarter, and more "informed" then other pilots or pilot groups. Look at labor history for pilots, learn and take that history to heart. Read "Confessions of a Union Buster" (should be required reading for pilot in a union) and you will see Parker and his people use it as there playbook.

Point being on the above, all the Airways pilots, old and new, and the AA need to put up a united (no pun intended) front. Doesn't matter who merged with who. As union members we dropped the ball 25 years ago (even long before that) by not having one national seniority list or at least a DOH policy for all mergers. We continue to play into management's hands in our industry by all the infighting created in these situations. But what do I know, I'm just a pilot.

At least the APA guys have a pair......

I'm glad their telling Horton and the boyz where they can stick their stock options...

If AMR was a ALPA carrier they would be running around crapping their pampers telling everyone to vote YES just like what happened at NWA, DAL, UAL and UsAir....

Just goes to show that independent Unions can and do work..........

I would rather go out on my feet with pride then clammering on my knees In front of some airline management slob........

....and this time, they'll likely bone themselves in the process. AA pilots will never willingly accept anything like AMR's term sheet and thus AA would be destined to exit bankruptcy with no pilot labor agreement and most likely with both other unions too. If AA exits chapter 11 in that state, it would be bedlam and I can't see any investors or lenders comfortable backing such an operation wherby in effect, management and labor are at war. Not saying current managment won't do this as so far, they have disregarded their employees completely, which is why we are where we are.

I'm still waiting for AMR's first smart move in a decade. Will this be a turning point to level the wings and bring them back to their senses or will they simply tighten their graveyard spiral ?

I think we're at the "terrain, terrain" phase. If they keep pulling back, we'll be at the "whoop,whoop.......pull up, pull up" point, but by then they'll be so low and so fast, they'll either rip the wings off or slam into the ground.

dont hold your breath. If they (AMR) do come around and give something equal to what Parker is offering, you better go with parker. AMR will not let this go with out major retribution after exiting BK. They will refile BK again in two years. These manager believe the world revolves around them and the AA unions did not just poke them in the eye, they cut there balls off.

Agreed. From my POV, Horton has boxed himself into a bad place. At this point, if he takes the savage route and continues unaltered on his scorched earth philosophy, he alienates labor further and makes creditors even more uneasy. If he matches Parker, it doesn't alter labor's distrust and all things being equal, they'll still go with Parker's business plan, especially because it's void of past baggage. If he tops Parker's offer, he negates his own 1113 assertions thereby officially putting their labor inequity claims in suspicious question, which weakens their own credibility.

As I said before, once AMR loses control, it'll be difficult to get it back and they're just about there. Clearly, all parties including creditors and investors have to be questioning this management teams performance since declaring BK.

Sure we do... We think it is fairly accurate that you would turn a smiley face emoticon into an AA/TWA bashing thread. Hey at least you're consistent.

Now, back to that other thread. Hey I'm only being fair.

Horton could do the unthinkable and merge aa and eagle making this gal too ugly for anyone to dance with.
