Yes, hence my point of the company having to pay up more due to the CBA and them having to learn that they do indeed need to get better. UA and DAL run slightly tighter ships, but are also feeling it. EB said it himself; their numbers are less than what they wanted.

why wouldn’t it? Everyone talks about how AA was lagging so far before this CBA, and now it brings it to parity

That's my point. It was being used as an excuse for our lagging profits. yeah, it is not the CBA.

This is exactly how our connection saver tool works here at United and it takes into account to hold flights.

Plenty of times I’ve had flights held because of connection saver and still managed to land at the destination airport early…

United adds a lot of extra buffer into the scheduled block time. It's not really an apples-to-apples comparison.

While listening to the 2nd quater analyist call, I was surprised to hear that our ex-fuel and special items unit cost was down .1% YOY. Not sure what the special items were. Sounds like a revenue problem.

"Our adjusted EBITDA margin was 15.7%, and we produced an adjusted operating margin of 9.7%. Our unit cost, excluding net special items and fuel, was down 0.1% year-over-year."

It's not just our sales & distribution strategy. Customers don't want our products because the customer experience is poor. I wish leadership would take some time to really understand what all the pain points are for our customers, and why the experience is subpar. Not just our hard product, also our soft product.

Agreed. Every person in management should ride an entire line with us, the whole month, and listen to all the input. There are things that are just so damn obvious and fairly easy to fix…..but we don’t, apparently.

Years ago it was funny listening to SOTA when Parker said how he rides on company metal "all the time" and how smooth it always goes.
Then he ignores the fact that there was always an extra gate agent when he flies, usually an extra clipboard person, and the entire crew gets a phone call in advance telling them someone from senior management is going to be on their flight, and often they recrewed those flights with the top team of FAs.

No surprise it was always smooth, it just didn't represent reality in any way.
