Agreed unless it is taking away an overnight that I bid for. I would rather do the overnight that I bid for than the RA pay. But at least when that overnight gets taken away now, I do get something in return vs before.....

Unless it's the addition of something like a DFW-OKC-DFW penalty lap at the end of an ACD trip. You think you're done with your one leg back to DFW, all set to drive home at 930am, and get one of those added on... 1 hour of extra pay for an extra 4-5 hours at work. Easy fatigue call from the car at 935am.

Good point. Can someone remind me why we even have 150% premium? We need to get rid of that with the next contract. Someone add it to the list.

During negotations some of the SMEs were very vocal about their "I go to work to work and get paid" mentality and were happy to disregard the fact that some of us actually bid for trip quality and layovers. They're addicted to the $$$ and poor trip constrution and quality creates chaos in the schedule and the premium opportunity they crave. But in reality it mostly drives RO (no pay) for one crew and an RA (pay) for another crew.

I think next go around, RO should be removed from misconnects. It's the company's option if they want to remove you or not for schedule intergity. If they have the option it should be an RA not RO. That would put the pressure on trip construction.

have to admit I don’t understand RO enough to get this. How is it that when two crews are given a different tasking compared to their original line that it’s RA with premium for one but RO with nothing for the other? And how is it decided who gets which?

RO if you’re the problem
RA if you’re the solution

Your misconnect just gave another crew a penalty lap of AF (RA).

Usually.

Post above is the best short description.

The devil is in the definition of a Misconnect in the CBA, which allows the company discretion in declaring a Misconnect provided the minimum turn time is not exceeded.

Clawing back that language would ensure that any time the company exercises discretion on modifying your schedule it would always be an RA and generate premium pay.

What bothers me even more is deciding to do the RA for the premium pay, only to be rescheduled again to RO.

Nothing hard about it at all, it is all still premium until you are put on your original trip.
