Default PBS vacation month

Quick question for the PBS gurus. I have 44 hours credit for August (12 days of vacation at the end). If I bid long call, is the 44 hours credit on top of the 73 hour min guarantee?

Take a look at the Vacation compass document and the Reserve compass document. From the latter:
I have vacation scheduled in a month where I am on Reserve. How will that affect my pay?
The number of required reserve days will be prorated in accordance with 2023 CBA Section 15.D.4.k. For each reserve available day, you will be paid 4:03 (LCR) or 4:13 (SCR). For each awarded vacation day, you will be paid at the daily rate per 2023 CBA Section 9.F.1.b. Your total pay for the month will be the sum of your reserve available and vacation days. See Vacation for a table showing the break down vacation pay in a reserve month, depending on length of vacation, length of month, and type of reserve.

From the former for a 30 day long call month:
12 days of vacation means 11 reserve days, 7 additional days off, RSV pay of 40:33, VAC pay of 55:00, total pay hours of 99:36.

That's pay, I'm assuming that's what you care about. Pay and credit are not the same. Vacation pays 4:35 per day but credits less. Short call would give you a fraction more (101:26)

thanks for that great explanation! I appreciate it.

What sucks is that you wasted your vacation GTD at the end of the month. Had it been the first 12 days, you would have flown very little, if at all. But starting in September it won't matter going fo4ward. If you have some days after your vacation, make sure they are all DP's as you'll come off vacation with some nice GTD built up.

Absolutely baffled by this change. The company doesn't care who flys what. Why slip it into the contract? This is an objective QoL loss with seemingly no benefit to the company.
