There are almost 400 retirements the rest of this year, the vast majority of which are captains. That alone means there will be vacancies.

How many have retired this year so far? How many new captain vacancies have there been? Is it linear? lemme know.

March 2025 vacancy will have plenty. LGA78/PHX73/ORD32F will all be building still and as always retirements. Plus who knows if they drop BOS320 or PHL73 in the next one? Either way, there will be slots to be filled.

If three months is your definition of ‘decently long while’ then I will agree with you.

This has definitely been my experience the last few weeks. Preference for 5-6 trips that all go out to MU/PR while I'm sitting at home.

As to the reserve system, I would've preferred they just left it seniorty only within the buckets with a 85 hour cap, with the caveat that a senior pilot can take the flying if they want and any pilot can preference flying above 85. I've been trying to load up some flying early this month, and despite being pretty senior among SC bidders it all goes out through other avenues.

I’d submit that now you can go over vmax with a pilot to pilot, every month is imax season.

yes, but it's way easier in a FAR max month. I did it in May, but it was some serious chess. June and July...checkers. Most new IMAXers are playing a JV game plan...myself included.
