It's really hard to have an actual appreciation to what's going on with the pilot facing tools as they currently are. I expect that the next 2-3 months will be a train wreck, and then reserve the right to be pleasantly surprised thereafter. The ability to post generic ballots before a Pass All as well as an actua useful reserve list, be it in RAS or APA Reserve, would go a long ways.

That’s my largest issue with the new reserve rules. I’d like to create a ballot for trips flown into my DFP to collect the extra 10:3 credit while accumulating RDW. Unfortunately “Pass All” is considered an award removing my other ballots instead of “don’t call me to ask if I want to pass, the answer is yes”.

Simple fix— “Pass All” shouldn’t be an award.

So, I haven't been on reserve in a year or so. I'm on vacation this week (and bid reserve this month) so I haven't been paying attention to how the new system is actually playing out. I know we can still look at the reserve tab on the union app and sort by days available and seniority to get a pseudo bucket look, but is there something in RAS that has a similar layout? Something that shows our buckets or where we are in relation to other folks? Also, is long call 14 hours outside of DOTC now?

The ability to post generic ballots in a queue prior to a PA would accomplish the same thing.

I understand that, but why would you make Pass All an award.

Short answer, yes. The RAS app will sort pilots by bucket and show where you are in the bucket’s batting order for assignments. It will show you for inside and outside DOTC (the batting order can change due to reserve days worked, which only affects assignments outside of DOTC). There are some caveats though. For example it may show another reserve pilot ahead of you in the batting order even though that person isn’t legal for a trip in open time. This is supposedly on the list of things that will be fixed according to the APA RAS video. I recommend watching it. It’s on the APA website.

Awards are processed prior to assignments. Pass all being an award honors seniority before RDW, when out of DOTC.

Really cool story man. Just like any reserve system typically 100% of the people are not used. Utilization percentage had nothing to do with my first post you responded to. It was about accountability and transparency. Your complaint was that it was only 12 hours. With your lack of experience in both airlines worked (one) and time at AA you probably couldn't see the inherent systematic problems in the new system. Something that wasn't going to iron itself out in a few hours much less a few days. We are now well into day three, with assignments assigned for day four and by most accounts it is still an unmitigated disaster. In other words your post aged poorly, very poorly.

Looking at your previous posts I still see you are in the mission hacking phase. Some of us ex-mil grow out of it faster than others. You seem like one of the slow ones.
