Time will tell if the Boeing strike affects this. We still have lots of folks coming off the top of the list so we need to hire, but if airplane deliveries are delayed further, HQ could change course.

Boeing is in it for the long haul. They have already implemented companywide partial furloughs. Employees, especially at HQ, can only work 3 out of 4 weeks. They are required to take one unpaid week off every 4 weeks. I do not see a speedy resolution.

Hiring update
Expect hiring to resume around November, CJOs at RTAG, and hiring goal is about 2000-2200 but realistically probably around 1800, classes to start Jan. That’s the plan so far, of course depends what happens with Boeing can always change things industry wide. From the Sr. hiring Manager at AA.

American? They do have the capacity to train that many. However I agree with you on your latter point, the number will be closer to 1000 then 2000. Especially with the Boeing Strike, expect significant additional delays. We will start needing a few FOs coming off training by the start of next Summer as we lose our surplus of FOs due to upgrades to cover retirements and to fill our few remaining Airbus and 787 deliveries.
