Considering we are 1000 pilots overstaffed for the fall and winter season I highly doubt it. Maybe small classes starting back up QTR 1 in 2025 to get people on the line by next summer is my guess.

had a line check last month, cka said they were told new hires coming in January. I’ll need to check this out with the Somali shoeshine girl in Charlotte though first.

Would love to know the retention rate of those in the pool and those who accept and show to class. Hiring might have slowed vs 2023 but applicants with experience have CJOs at 2 and 3 legacy carriers. Wait too long and you might find the pool isn’t enough and you’ll be back to trying to get interviews scheduled ASAP

There’s still a big log jam at the entry level, so I suspect they can flow more from the wholly owned, if needed, and then replace them with entry level pilots who have been waiting to move on to a regional. It would be a massive blunder to waste a couple of months of training capacity because they miscalculated things, though.
And yes, trying to “perfect the timing” never ever works out.
