AA also "suffered" without a new contract for most of the 2000's because right before 9/11 AA mgmt offered DAL new contract 2000 + 1% but wanted any future disagreements to go to baseball style arbitration which the APA and pilots said no thank you to. This intel all from my AA squadron mates in the reserves.

Then 9/11 and AA was locked in a 90's contract while DAL and UAL had all achieved record rates. When DAL and UAL and NWA went BK a few years later, those rates were reset back. (along with canx of pensions and introduction of PBS).

No, they are pausing end of November and December, as usual. Already filling up classes for Jan 2025

In Oct we will have met the hiring numbers that we set for the year. More like hit the goal early.

Hearing we are 1300 pilots overstaffed for the winter, enjoy those blank lines. It is not looking good for resuming new hire classes in January 2025.

My guess is Sep 2025 before we have another new hire class. They are going to want to keep the LCA on the line for next summer.
