Wasn't commenting about the fairness of it all, just providing a plausible reason when the previous poster asked why pilots seem to "dislike mgmt" no matter what they do.

F'ing amazing.
Delta cancels since Saturday:
36%-36%-30%-13% (and counting)
AA cancels:
1%-2%-2%-1%
I commuted home a few days ago and there was a Delta flight "delayed" from 11:30am to 3:36am...so even those cancel numbers are hugely misleading because Delta likes to delay flights to the next day (or days) to not officially "cancel".
AA IT deserves a round of applause IMO.

Lots of advantages of that too. It's fast, secure, harderned, etc. You can send a prog report over BFE from the jet, that goes down to earth via radio waves, then crosses the ocean a few times, hits the AA servers, updates SABRE. When you refresh the FI 1.2 secs after sending it, the request is sent via space back down to earth, crossing the ocean a few more times, into AA servers, then goes back the way it came into your ipad at 37,000 ft.
F'ing amazing.

People need to look up what AS400 is and get a clue that all good technology isn't shiny and new. It's a little arcane with SABRE, but they've put decent front ends on it. They could easily take away any interface and just give everyone buttons, which is essentially what every other thing out there in technology is, but they still give us access.

I also told him - "you know the road you take has about 4 traffic light cameras in about 10 miles? So you're getting tracked more there than you are driving down the highway."
Mind you he's doing this while driving with his cell phone pinging off the cell phone towers....

Like the guy who took 'back roads' to work to avoid the EZ-Pass tracking him. I said unless you murder your wife I don't think the governement gives a sh*t about you.
