I have no idea what inspired him, but this is from the Washington Post report on American’s earnings call: Isom said that there are too many seats flying in the U.S. market, which has resulted in weaker prices. American plans to slow its growth in the second half of the year to bring capacity in line with demand. Other domestic-focused airlines have faced similar challenges and have had to throttle back.

Most airlines say Boeing and Pratt are holding them back, but in reality it’s a blessing in disguise. If Boeing actually delivered all the MAX’s on schedule, and the Pratt engine jets weren’t grounded, domestic airfare prices would go through the floor.

And that is bad for the consumer how? Supply and demand, the airlines would simply throttle back capacity by taking the new planes and retiring the older ones instead of keeping them around.

that was a quote from a picture I have about the exclamation next to a green published check mark. I couldn’t post the pic so I posted the writing from the pic.

If I accept a class date with American and I am furloughed, do you know if American makes you send a registration later to the airline you are furloughed from?

800-1000 dudes either via Age 65, early retirements, or medical out, are leaving AA, each year for next 3-5 years.
