No it wont, but at over 120,000 flights a month saving $82 per flight is 10 million a month in savings towards profit sharing.

I know that the hiring pause just happened, but is there any word on when to expect it to start back up again? Sometime in 2025?

It sounded from their email to those who had class dates this fall that it would be at the start of the year they will start INDOC back up again. But take that with a grain of salt. The company is purposely vague in their statements and whatever they say can change at any time.

To be fair, isn't our profit sharing pool spread over numerous employee groups? Unlike Delta's (and United's?), which I believe is just for the pilots?

It is, but why is everyone doing everything they can to make sure that check is as small as possible, and then ***** and complain when it's a small check?

That's a valid point. I wonder if the pilots had a dedicated pool where the savings was more sensitive if that would encourage pilots to hop on board with practices like SE taxi.

To reiterate, I don't believe that's a valid excuse for pilots to be apathetic towards the spirit of the process.

Funny. AA has the 2nd highest CASM in the entire US industry.

You ever work at any other for profit place besides an airline? HVAC systems raise or lower temp at business close in offices, people shut down computers and other equipment, copiers have deep sleep modes, and lights are turned off. All these things are insignificant per device (and were already built to be as efficient as possible) and add up greatly.

The ubsurdity of "ima start the APU as soon as we land so I can flip the gens over before I forget" (and then hit the same switches while parking at the gate) is mind blowing. I've been bitter from jobs, but throwing the companies money down the toilet and then whining about Delta's huge profit sharing checks is probably the dumbest of dumb I've seen here. You can be bitter and waste company money, or you can be mad the check is small, but if you're the one making it smaller, maybe it's time to look in the mirror.

also the delivery delays hurt. I mean look at the amount of float proffer vacays they are giving for the 78 crews.

also, we have a ton of planes going in for retrofit this fall. 777-300 getting new interiors. While the first one is going in August the rest will follow. The 319’s are getting an extra row of business class. The Alaska 321’s are all going in to be retrofitted to match the rest of the fleet.

so the fall winter schedule will be smaller. Which would be these classes. Classes starting in Jan would be to fill the summer 25 schedule.

but I know nothing. Just trying to look at it from a 30k foot view.
How big is the ORD 320 base going to be? I've heard it's going to be only 30 CA and FOs initially.
