Dude. Non reving I just had an agent make me gate check my bag. I told her I’m 1000% sure it’ll fit lol as it was a crew bag…. She said nope. They are getting soo bad in the customer and co-worker service department.

Id have gone and said, per the FOM, as I point to it on my ipad that the bag is to be gate checked. Next call is the duty pilot; that's ridiculous.

But, she was probably poorly trained. I had an agent in CLT who didn't know A32F has 2 jumpseats...

Agreed, but a good way to get left behind.

It’s a lack of training and experience. The “rude” gate agents are just stressed out. They unload their stress on the paying customer, because the customer asked a “silly question”. In reality they can’t handle any questions (distractions), because they can’t board an aircraft in less than 45 minutes.

This industry issue could be fixed quickly with increased wages and increased expenses spent on initial training for gate agents to prevent attrition.

Had similar happen to me not too long ago. I just pointed to my crew badge that I was wearing and firmly, but politely said "Mam, I FLY this plane. I KNOW what fits." After a bit of back and forth and holding up the line she finally said, "well, I guess you can try" with a really snarky tone for all to hear like she just KNEW it wouldn't. lol

More like Isom and gang will double down on the LCC model.
Goodbye 787s and 777, he's gonna sell those for a profit due to the shortage of widebody assets
