Go buy a few tickets on Delta and tell me what you think of their product compared to ours. We don't have to like them but they are the competition and we're losing the battle for high revenue customers. Instead we're targeting every Joe Sixpack in Abilene or Greensboro or Scranton who might fly somewhere once or twice a year while the high dollar corporate customers and business owners are avoiding us like the plague. Doesn't matter how much you expand your international service if nobody who means a damn to the bottom line wants it. Look what's happened in ORD post merger. United and even Delta with their international codeshares have handed our lunch to us. Until they fix the product AA will always be the #3 airline. But that takes money and treating people well especially the FAs and agents. The culture is rotten and it's going to take a lot to fix
Well, they fired the guy responsible for the loss in business travel revenue and are already correcting their error. What else would you do as an armchair CEO? Do you have any insight into how the FAs operate in terms of sick calls etc? They are their own worst enemy in terms of cutting their own wrists with how the company treats them.

My experience nonrevving on AA has been pretty good, I took Delta a lot for several years commuting to JFK, and honestly it really wasn't much different. The biggest difference is their Comfort+ had nicer seats, which I thought was a nice touch.

Pre-merger US Airways passengers used trash bags for luggage. So yeah, we've come a long way.

Were you trying to reply to me or someone else? Because it appears we agree.

Was trying to encompass both, his laughable comment followed by yours, indeed we agree.

It's going to be very interesting to see if this is a catlyst for some pretty big heel turns on product, experience, and network.
Yep, now is the perfect time to bring in a former America West visionary and make AA the ultimate regional carrier it was meant to be!

Default Delta not near as great as they think they is

As a commuter, I end up on Delta a fair amount of the time (and Alaska).
Delta THINKS they are pretty hot stuff....not really a noticable difference in economy.
Alaska has great customer service....if they could fix their seat pitch thing. And you do get treated well in 1st.
The laughable thing is that they brag that they have the "most room in premium" of any legacy airline.
(I honestly thought I was in coach at the time, the seats were so cramped.)

The handful of times I end up in the back of an AA flight (usually deadheading), I really don't see any difference between them and Delta.

Now, our 88 year old FAs that are going to work until they die..... Who thought that was a great idea?

*I cut out parts of the quote in the middle for brevity*

I totally agree. Eighty percent of Delta's reputation as a "premium airline" is due to the fact they have convinced everyone that they are through effective marketing (which they deserve credit for, it's incredibly impressive).

Delta does "express service" on flights of less than 450nm (I believe that is the cutoff, it's approximate at least). From a NY airport to DTW, you could get the choice of water, coffee or tea. Can't even get a soda...

Good riddance to another nAAtive American.

It wasn't native Americans that did it, that was the ulcc America West dougie and his lap dog Kirby.

America West was the worst thing to happen to American. The Horton plan was better.

Both of them started their careers at AMR, with Dougie reporting directly to Crandall.
