AA or Delta at this moment

Sweet baby Jesus. It's still been less than a year since we signed the CBA and it's already back to "This place is terrible", "Everything sucks", blah, blah, blah.
Give it a rest. Every group, everywhere has its not-so-stellar individuals. We've all said as much for ourselves as pilots: we've all talked about the guy/gal in the seat next to us not living up to their end of the deal/standards.
Have I had an RBF agent or FA? Sure. Same as they've (we've) dealt with a PITA curmudgeon CA or lazy AF perma-FO. Like I said before; all groups have problem children.
This company isn't the dumpster fire all the whiners make it out to be. Good people, following SOP, and doing extra to help our customers. Yes, I see it on almost every trip.
Prospect short on bodies, hot jet bridge, lady sitting in the chair? Our crew chief pushed her up into the terminal.
Girl left her purse in the seat back in MIA, passport, ID, the works. Had the agent look up her connection, met her at the gate and got it back to her.
Mechanical delay, CA delegates some things to me and why? So he can get with the agent/rampies since a young family wants to deplane and he goes with the rampie to ensure they get their stroller.
No catering? Yeah, mInor ding, shouldnt happen. Call ops, truck shows up, you're on your way. CA wants an extra 2K? Call ops, Fueler shows up, you're on your way. Be respectful and smile and the agent will be respectful and smile.
If someone on your crew or the rampie/agent/crew chief is getting into the sport-beeching mode, just don't play into their negativity. If you just stick to the job, they'll stop.
Yes, there are problems. Every airline has areas that need to be tweaked; so give it a rest. Send your reps debriefs, bend your CPs ear of something is agregious or trends develop with things, and as a last resort (unless reqd right?) blast a CERS.
This is one of the best gigs going and people act like their lives/jobs are awful; same people that will complain how heavy a gold bar is when you give it to them.
Sorry yall, rant over, but cmon.

Why is that so hard for some of you?
Right on the money. Very dysfunctional, lots of disgruntled employees, FA and gate agents nasty, operations financially not viable, the list goes on. Heard from many friends there. They try to simply block out the negativity, fly your trip and go home. They don’t feel any affinity for the company.
I always laugh at the clowns that volunteer for the union or become check airmen because they want to "give back". What exactly does that mean? What do you need to "give back". This isn't some orphanage that pulled you off the street. It's a job and you gave more than you needed with your labour.

If it's not your job, don't do it.
Why is that so hard for some of you?
That's the way it should be. You get paid either way, just do what you're required and go home. I couldn't care less about the "legacy" I leave here. This is just a means to an end which is getting paid.

I brought M&M's for years. The 'share' bag. Old school.... "What's a word that begins with S and makes you feel good all over?" If they said "I'm not going there" I'd make a joke out of it - either accusing them of having a dirty mind or teasing that what they're thinking is inappropriate at work. I hold the bag out and say "I was thinking of 'share'." One or two said "sex." "Whoa....bite your tongue! Share!!!" One male F/A thought about it...."soul" and tapped his heart. "That's why we hate guys like you!! You're crushing it and we're fumbling over the answer!"
But I'd normally get them laughing about - "watch out for those agents (next computer terminal. Don't trust them. It says 'share'...not 'share with next gate over.' Same with the F/A's. Three bags - fwd, mid, aft. It was just an ice breaker and a little present. One trip a F/A comes up - "a passenger bought us a BIG bag of M&M's." Guilt shaming me. So I started buying them big bags.
It's just basic human interaction. A few are curmudgeons but most people are good.
$10-20 for some laughs and a bit of levity. Worth every penny.

Just be glad you're not married to the complainers.

I say "I (we)(no one) talks to them." Be it a coworker, FO, CA, guy from another base, another airline, etc. "Who? I don't talk to him."
Golfing with a guy - "I know your neighbor?" "Who?" "Joe Schmo." "No one talks to him." LOL. Always told with a smile but playing the old curmudgeon to the max. For some it comes naturely...

Let’s see. An airline with a nearly 100 year history of pure dysfunction, or a company with 110 years of profitability but indifference to their employees trying not to be something they are not? Hmmmm. Which one to choose 🤔
