AA or Delta at this moment

They have a more efficient network. Anytime you can fly from point A to point B via CLT or DFW you have an efficiency loss. It’s great for nonreving, but worse for profits.
Delta serves more stations with the efficiency of only one hub, and it clearly yields them more profit.
It has nothing to do with TVs, better snacks, lounges, or free texting. All that stuff is Delta’s way of avoiding a price war to flex the efficiency of their network.
Letting your competition set the price knowing you have the network advantage and adding cherry’s to your product to command a premium is way more lucrative than to try to sell seats cheaper than them and using the network efficiency as an advantage on lowering cost.
AA can advertise their cost per seat mile are equal to Delta’s but AA has to launch more seat miles to get the seat mile cost cost down. AA is required to operate more overlap than Delta in network coverage to have enough seat miles to get the cost down.
That’s also the reason why they are gun shy on heavys, they can’t have a lower or equal heavy cost per seat mile running way less heavy’s.
Scot Kirby is trying to add seat miles to United’s network to lower cost, and up gauging is a way to avoid overlap on his networks.
AA merging last caused substantially more overlap that can not be consolidated.

America West didn't add anything to the airline but a bunch of worn out old airbuses and some hubs in 2nd tier low wealth cities.
AA could have gone it alone much better than allowing dui duggie to ruin a great airline. Horton knew what he was doing and had a better team.
Ive said it once I'll say it again, AA of 20 years ago was a more prestigious place that America West International is today.

I honestly feel sorry for people like him. One can dislike many things, and that’s perfectly fine. But if everything that comes out of your mouth is pessimistic and negative…..man you really have a miserable life.

...write your rep/JS committee and tell em you want the next contract language to remove all JSs; that'll be great.
Trolls gonna troll I guess.

For example trying to get to/from Rome right now Delta has 1-2 flight a day to/from NYC and 1 every other day to/from ATL.. if you take AA, there is only 1 flight a day to/from PHL.. and that’s your only chance for a direct. Same with every pretty similar story every city pair AA has except LHR
Delta serves FCO from four airports.
American serves FCO from five.
Also the example you just cited from Delta includes a flight every other day, not even every day?
After typing all this I realize you are definitely trolling.

AA should try and rebrand itself as a low cost alternative to United and Delta. Instead of trying to be something they never will be do something they can actually accomplish.
Do more seasonal flying to vacation destinations and have more alacart onboard services for food and drinks.
You'll never get the yields out of cities like dfw, clt, phx and PHL that you would get out of den, sea, lax, ATL, or NYC.
AA 20 years ago could probably make it work, you know back when they flew to Taipei and Osaka for example. But when you merge with a 3rd tier ulcc like America West and your company is run by an Alcoholic with 3 duis this is what you end up with.

Where do you think that giant pile of money and investmenst came from to swallow up LUS and LAA? AWA was hiring and expanding while AA way laying off. Those same AA furloughees when the merger happened chose to use their AWA sen # and retire their AA number. What's that tell ya big guy? LoL
Denial, not just a river in Egypt.
You're hilarious! ;-)
