Except the bad winter storm that happened last year and the year before that.

You literally thought I meant "next week" when I typed that? Then after some premium got handed out after the biggest winter event in a long time you thought you would come back and gloat? lol, get a grip. Go back to complaining about that pesky “QOL Crowd”.

Bingo.

APA leadership actions and communications are conducted like we work for the APA, not AA. They're condescending, harsh, and adversarial. Even before the ALPA push.

All you need to do is tune into a union town hall and hear one of Sicher’s unhinged rants to know this much. The problem is that the membership still voted (most) of these people in. The only thing ALPA offers is a better way to recall them.

Truth be told, that is what the membership wants. They want to hear rants about how much smarter APA/pilots are, how stupid company decisions are, or how bad the company performed. It gets them off. Membership views it as a sign of "strength" to rip into management, and anyone that shows some empathy towards AA decisions is weak.

I remember listening to one where Vasu was waiting in the wings, and the first 5-10 mins was about how inept route network decisions were (he was route planner chief back then). I really wanted to hear what he had to say so muddled through the rant session but it was cringeworthy. So disrespectful.

Ha, not at all. All I’m saying is that you’re right in that premium HAS slowed down in normal times (which I’d say is a good thing as it means the airline is getting properly staffed and pilots reap the QOL benefits of what goes along with that).

During any sort of IROPS it will continue as it always has, (as proven by this week) which is ALSO a good thing for pilots if they want the opportunity to make a little more. It’s not going to “be given out for the last time” anytime soon or ever as long as storms and weather events exist. The new contract hasn’t and won’t affect that.

I’m not even sure what point you're trying to argue about.

Now go grab a premium trip, it will make you happier.
Cheers 🍻

What is AA's PS formula? What amount have pilots historically taken home?

Dont know the formula, but historically about 1 to 2% of your W2. This will go up slightly with new contract formula, but will not reach DAL levels, because we share our profit pool with the entire company and WO's as opposed to DAL pilots share with no one.

Now the formula for PS is identical to DL. The pool is split with more people.
