That being said, there are plenty of ways to make extra money at AA, even if junior, IMAX just being one of them. If you peel back the onion of those you’re flying with, the numbers are staggering for those who know what they’re doing.

I’ve found this to be true as well, the “BUT MY QOL” crowd loves to scoff online at those picking up PM and MU…probably because it’s harder for junior folks to get it at AA. Seems easier at DAL and hence there’s not as much of an “outsider looking in effect.” Hence those making huge bank keep it quiet. End of year threads on here always have the least from AA as well.

Caveat: Hitting IMAX in 9 months involves sick use, a huge no-no at AA and is a risk. Some airlines see sick use as nothing more than using PTO, but AA see's it as stealing and has a long history of pilot discipline for sick use..but that is a whole other thread topic.

Good IMAX summary, but this hasn’t been my experience at all re:sick. I’ve never been questioned or hassled, and I know lots of pilots who burn through all their sick time and then use unpaid sick and have never been hassled either. Not that I’d care if some rogue CP tried to hassle me, whatever.
no doctors notes, no calls from CPO. I think at delta you have to automatically provide a doctors note after a certain number of calls?

The only time your sick usage comes to play is if you’re trying to apply for check airman or instructor pilot position. They will look at your sick usage and if you call sick a lot you’ll be off the table for the position..

As for calls etc., I agree the calls have mostly stopped according to feedback from others.
However, this is highly variable among Dir of Flight Offices. Some do, some don't.
Some will let the SK use slide until another issue pops up, then it will be used against the pilot; Vacancies in management, ckair, Duty Pilot etc. and discipline unrelated to SK that then becomes part of the cosiderations.

Premium has mostly dried up, at least when compared to early/mid last year, and will continue to do so under the new contract and as we increase the number of pilots. There will be a time soon when the last premium is given out for a long time. After premium and the retro checks all we are left with are the work rules. This is what the “BUT MY QOL” crowd has been warning you about.
I’ll give you the over 1:1 over 10 hours rig, and the 2:30 min day. But those come with consequences we may not want. NH DAL buddies of mine are flying 5 day trips regularly. Anyway, those are literally the only 2 “work rules” I can think of they have that we don’t that makes them more money. We can now double dip when bought off for training.
Please educate us. Airbusflieger refuses to do it.
Yes, we know for the time being that DAL makes more money than AA and UAL and get more PS, but that’s not a work rule.

Don’t disagree that premium has gotten slower. But someone needs to point to something specific about the “work rules” that pay so much more that DAL has. What do you want, airport standby option (UAL/DAL)? Monthly Hour caps you need to hit before premium/green slips (DAL)?

You refer to those Delta items like they are bad.
IMO, they are not undesireable.
Funny thing with the APA... they always say things like "we don't want that".
I dont' agree.
