Default Medical

Over 40 and a First Officer, would i need a first class every 6 months or once a year? So Im asking can I fly with a first that is a second class as an FO? Thanks

Depends on company policy and fleet.

Delta, pure NB fleet, that works.
Delta, 7ER and WB fleets, no. You need a first class at all times.

At AA, every 6 months if on the 777 or 787; every 12 months if on the 737 or 320. If 60 and older, then every 6 months any seat.

asking on the AA page I think AA was kind of implied.....

20.4.3..Be careful with the age 40 language.

PSA-If you are a 1st Officer going through upgrade, and are over 40, you need a valid 1st Class(6 months) medical for your LOE.

This policy may change slightly with the XLR when flown augmented. It will be interesting to see how that is implemented. PHL crews should be the first impacted.

It will.

Interestingly, LGA was supposed to be the first bid status. Not sure if that has changed.

As a new 320 guy a little over a year from 40, I will be watching this thread with great interest.
