Ha! Airbus pilots eat like savages! They attack their food from the side. WTF!?!? Who does that? Airbus pilots. ;-)

Vandenberg never advocated "kicking the rudder." Watch the video. He says the rudder is there if you need it when roll control isn't responding to aileron inputs alone> He also says to not forget that using rudder at high AOA is also part of the spin entry procedure. Soft hands have a value.

Um, no.

There's a difference between what automation level you operate in vs the amount of broader situational awareness you're applying to whatever situation you find yourself in.

The antidote for that is to show earlier than the FA's, or have the conversation with the FA's to take some of their mountain of junk out to make room-good luck with that though, as most capt/FO's are too timid to enforce the pilot baggage policy.

Briggs & Riley have an expandible 19" that fits neatly in just about every nook and cranny except the E145. Costs of B&R baggage have sky-rocketed though, expect to pay $700 for one now. I paid $4xx bucks for mine many years ago. It is definitely the best bag I've ever had and it still looks great after ten years of abuse.

There are two philosophy's; Buy cheap bags often, or buy an expensive bag once or twice in a career.
Both bags can fit up front on the 737 if desired. Somewhere it became convention to put CA bag in front and FO bag in cabin closet. FWIW after thousands of hours in 737 I've never had FAs fill closet to where FO could not get their bag in.

FAs go into/out of their bags constantly during the flight to access items to do their job. I understand the current policy is for them to store them in the overhead bins, but if we press to test this issue I'd imagine the company will amend that and change policy. Inflight is rapidly gaining power in Dallas.
