I think most people looked at those surveys to be a BS way of being singled out for supporting ALPA and not taking part it in, hence the low participation rate.

Besides, the time for surveys was last year.

This means that half of the people who received the survey DON'T CARE enough to opine. This is not the same as polling 50% of a group and reporting the results.
Nope... The only acceptable resposnes were APA or ALPA with a statement of go read the provided information to make a decision. I read the info and didn't come away with a impression that I had enough info to say that I think one is better than the other... I'm not an APA fan boy, but I don't think that the grass is necessarily greener at ALPA...

APA's in house survey to see if people wanted to keep APA showed people want to keep APA? Shocking! Shocking I tell ya.

Interesting. How many terms did the PHL guy serve?

Which term was he on when he was late for the ALPA meeting on a premium trip that just happened to have DHs to and from BOS(where he isn't based) but also to and from multiple airports.

Something like:
DH BOS-PHL RON
operate PHL-DFW Land just in time for meeting(but also be late)
DH DFW-BOS

Such luck!

APA will never support joining ALPA because it puts a lot of APA employees out of a job. Not really the pilot groups problem but that’s just the reality of the situation. Don’t need an APA benefits department when ALPA already has one, the same can be said about most APA departments.
A merger didn't have to put anyone(mostly) out of a job. This is exactly why a merger comittee existed. There would have been negotiations with ALPA.

Card drive is another story altogether.
