Oh you want to get technical? Okay the mediator told the company to make an offer that counts and told the union they better take it or get parked? Happy now?

There's a big difference between a knowledgable person and an annoying know it all. Here on APC you usually come across as the latter. Too funny.

If you're the union expert you claim you are then you knew what I meant. Mediators play a large role in RLA negotiations.

So did this movement just quietly die out from lack of cards or? Haven't heard anything from anyone, or anyone riled up on the Facebook groups in a while.

No. I don't remember the end date but it's right around now. The drive has had over the 50% needed for a vote for quite some time. The purpose of continuing the drive past that number wa that APA will die on this hill fighting what the pilot group wants. The drive wanted well over 50% so that when APA fights and demands recounts there aren't any doubts.

It went pretty quiet. I'm hoping it's just being busy.

I’ve heard the emails have sent out some mixed messages about if they really have more than 50% of active signatures

It will be nice to let the pilots decide. Staggering APA won't let them.

We needed 7,981 signed cards today to meet the minimum 50% plus one required by the NMB to trigger an election between APA and ALPA. As of August 20th, we have received over 10,000 pieces of mail from this pilot group. We are still going through a very painstaking, manual process to account for retirements, duplicates, attrition, fraudulent cards, and card errors using a limited number of line pilot volunteers to ensure card signers’ identities are protected. We will give a full accounting once the audit is complete.

If only the APA board had decided to do what's best for all of us and pursue a merger with ALPA instead of forcing a contentious and painstaking card drive/election. They probably could have kept their jobs but had better resources. But no they decided a desperate last cling to power was best thing for the pilot group. They sure showed us who's daddy.
