I think your confusing classification dates with class dates.

If they start with January classification dates then anyone with a January classification date would be changed to actual DOH.

So an Aug 2023 hire with a Jan classification would move to year 2 to pay Aug 2024.

Aug 2022 hire with Jan classification date would move to year 2 now instead of waiting until January.

Those reps are probably just projecting that if they move a months worth of pilots over to DOH each month, then logically it would take only 12 months.

They very last group of pilots to benefit would be pilots with a December classification date, because it’s implied they have already been “skipped”.

There may even be a pilot hired in AUG 2023 with a December classification date that has to wait until December 2024 to move to year 2 while pilots hired in September 2023 move to year 2 in September 2024 AND pilots hired in Aug 2023 with a Jan classification date move to year 2 in AUG of 2024 because their classification date was selected to be changed a full year before December.

So a pilot who thought they were getting a raise a month sooner by being senior in new hire class will actually be 4 months behind their class mates and also had less time off waiting for training.

So can anyone confirm if it was January hire dates or January classification dates that changed? I'm a January hire but can't find anything that's been changed.

My stub doesn’t have anything like that on it.

It's January Classification dates that changed to hire dates. If you are a January hire then you will be changed a month or maybe two before your classification date.

The company email explains it, they are going to drive right past your DOH and change your classification date at your next classification anniversary.

If you are hired January then you likely have an April classification date and will move to your next pay step in April of 2024, then when April 2024 gets here they will calculate that your next pay step date will be January 2025.

Ah you mean the pay rate is on the pay stub. I took Airline Guy’s post to mean that the actual classification date is on jetnet somewhere.

also I was asking if he had a class (as in the class he was in) date aka DOH of August 31st 2022. Given that the class before that had end of December classification dates…

Everything will be completed by March 2024.

Nov were those with jan class dates.
jan will cover Feb, March, Apr, May, Jun class dates.
feb will cover July, Aug, Sept
march will cover Oct Nov and Dec.

the company for all their bad is actually staying ahead of implementation.

been pleasantly surprised with how they have been implementing the contract so far. Will that last time will tell.

Yeah. My beef is with the union for blindly agreeing to the company’s plan and not actually thinking about what the implementation meant in regards to seniority etc.

oh well.

could you private message me the email address of said manager? I would like to ask a question about how exactly they are implementing the pay raises.

thanks!

Kind of a funny thing to say, considering they spent negotiating capital to get this change. Also new hires getting 401k from the first day now. Much like the pilot group itself, the union is getting younger by the day, and I think the mentality is changing for the better.
