MIA must be getting some XLR action if they did MIA-MAD, unless they didn’t like the aftermath

AA did not pick that route. AA tech pilots went along as observers though

The 2 bases that are considered off the bat to home the XLR is PHL first than JFK.

For an airline like AA, what European routes from NY and Philly would make sense for an XLR vs the 777?

Probably relatively short flights with generally smaller cities. Think Reykjavik, Shannon, Edinburgh, etc.

Year round thinner routes to Europe that don’t warrant the capacity or cargo of a 787/777. Seasonal downguage from a 787/777; some cities may get a 787/777 in the summer and an 321XLR in the winter. Some cities that have more demand than a single 787/777 but not enough to warrant two WBs a day will get a 321XLR to supplement. They’ll replace the 321T on the premium-heavy transcons between Europe flights. The 321T will be converted back to the standard 321 layout.
