Default Training timeline questions

Does anyone have an idea of the new hire training timeline? I understand Indoc is 2 weeks, a little less clear after that.

1. How long after indoc before Aircraft training starts?
2. How long is that training?
3. How long after training before IOE?
4. From Day 1 of indoc, how long to complete consolidation?

I understand there are a lot of variables and things can change. Just trying to get a general idea.

Thanks!

1. Depends on the backlog. My class had about 1 month, +\- a week or so.
2. IIRC, about 3-4 weeks, including 48 hours off every 4-5 days or so.
3. About a week
4. About 5 months total, depending on many variables.

During IOE, do you have time to go home? Say you are based LGA but live in SFO.

Any thoughts are appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi Folks,

I was just wondering, while on IOE, will you have a chance to go home? Like if you are based in LGA but you live in SFO.

Thank you so much.

Depends. My IOE took a month and I was dead headed sporadically for 1-2 day trips. You might finish in one trip if they give you a long one.

IIRC, You have at least two days notice before each OE trip so if you can make the commute in that timeframe you’ll be able to go home. You may not get more notice though so I’d plan on that.

You need 25 hours before your line check. They assign OE trips from what’s available in the system, not your base. So hopefully you’re not assigned trips starting in LGA. If you are assigned an OE trip out of DFW you can book your own DH’s from SFO-DFW-SFO. Make sure you cancel your scheduled DH’s from LGA. They give you at least 30 hours notice before your assigned trip. It’s a great setup I wouldn’t be too concerned.

Is it possible to contact the training department to obtain study material prior to starting indoc?
